StoreFix requests the public pages at a store address you enter and reports what it can see there. It does not sign in, does not install anything, does not ask for permissions and does not change a single thing on the store. It reads what any visitor or search engine can read.

It is free, and there is a limit on how many scans one visitor can run in a short window so that the service stays up for everyone.

The score is arithmetic. Each check has a fixed weight, and the number is the points kept over the points that applied. Nothing about it is a prediction of your revenue, your traffic or your search ranking, and no one else's score is involved in calculating yours.

Checks we couldn't run — usually because a store renders in the browser and a scan from outside can't read it — are listed as skipped and left out of the maths entirely. A high score is not a guarantee that a store has no problems; it means the specific things we check for looked fine at the moment we looked.

Some checks look for policy pages: refunds, privacy, shipping, terms. We are reporting whether a page exists and is reachable. We are not telling you whether its contents satisfy any law that applies to you, and nothing on this site is legal, financial or tax advice. If you need to know whether your refund policy is lawful where you sell, ask a lawyer.

A report link can be opened by anyone who has it and re-runs the scan when opened. It shows only information published on the store's own public pages. If a report about your store exists and you would rather it didn't, write to us and we will block that domain from being scanned.

If you ask us to write the fixes for you, this is how it goes:

We agree the scope and the price in writing before any work starts. Nothing is charged automatically, there is no subscription, and no card is stored anywhere — we could not charge you by surprise if we wanted to.

You receive a document with the existing text and the proposed text side by side, for every item. Nothing is published to your store until you have read it and said go, and we do not need access to your Shopify admin to do any of the writing.

Where the work is free — we are doing the first stores at no charge — the exchange is permission to point at your before-and-after. That permission is asked for explicitly and you can decline it and still have the work.

Copy we write for you is yours to use however you like once it is delivered. We keep no claim over it.

The scanner is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. It may be wrong, it may be unavailable, and it may be discontinued or changed at any time. The internet being what it is, a store can also change between one scan and the next.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the scanner or from acting on what it reports. For the free scanner, our total liability is nil. For paid work, our total liability is limited to what you paid us for that work.

Don't attempt to break, overload or circumvent the limits on the service, and don't use it to attack someone else's site. We can refuse service to anyone doing that.
